Event Video Production for a New Running Events Brand
Prosper Events is a new running events company created to deliver premium race experiences for runners across the South West.
For their first event, the Black Downhill Run, Prosper needed content that could help introduce the brand, showcase the race experience and support future event marketing.
As a new company launching a new race, there was no previous event footage, no existing content library and no visual proof of what the experience would feel like. LUX Media & Production was brought in to capture the event and create a suite of professional video assets that Prosper could use to promote the race, build credibility and support future sign ups.
The project included a main recap video and four social first edits, delivered in both vertical and landscape formats for use across social media, paid ads, YouTube and wider event marketing.
RESULTS
Debut race brought to life captured the atmosphere, scenery and energy of Prosper’s first event.
Reusable content library created delivered assets for social media, paid ads, YouTube and future race promotion.
Brand trust built from day one helped Prosper look established, credible and ready to grow.
THE CHALLENGE
Prosper Events were launching a brand new running event with no previous race footage to show.
That created a clear marketing challenge. Potential runners needed to understand the event, trust the organiser and feel excited about taking part, but there was no existing content to show the route, the atmosphere or the experience.
The Black Downhill Run needed to feel credible, energetic and professionally presented from the start.
The challenge was to capture the first event in a way that could do more than document race day. The content needed to become a long term marketing asset that could help Prosper promote future events, build trust with runners and show the potential of the race experience.
WHAT WE DID
LUX Media & Production captured the Black Downhill Run and created a batch of video assets designed for future event marketing.
With one crew member on site, we filmed the race day experience across the course, using a mix of ground footage and drone footage to capture the scale, scenery and energy of the event.
The aim was to make viewers feel like they were there, showing the atmosphere, runners, route, countryside setting and excitement of the day.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
The creative direction focused on making the event feel accessible to all, energetic and scenic.
Because Prosper was a new brand, the content needed to build trust quickly. It had to show that the event was well organised, exciting to take part in and worth entering in future years.
We wanted the videos to appeal to serious runners, trail runners and people looking for a more scenic race experience. The content needed to feel aspirational, but still accessible, showing a wide range of runners and making the event feel open to different levels and demographics.

CONTENT PRODUCTION
LUX captured a mix of race day content, including runners on the course, scenic route footage, drone shots, atmosphere, movement and key event moments.
The location and countryside setting played a major role in the visual direction. The footage was created to highlight the terrain, energy and unique feel of the Black Downhill Run.
The production was built around creating assets with long term value, not just a one off recap. Every piece of footage was captured with future promotion in mind.

PLATFORM ROLLOUT
Following the event, LUX delivered a main recap video and four separate social first edits.
The content was created in a mixture of vertical and landscape formats, giving Prosper assets that could be used across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, paid ads and wider marketing.
This gave Prosper a professional content library to use when promoting future races, helping the brand look more established and giving potential runners a clear idea of what to expect.
THE CREATIVE
THE IMPACT
The content gave Taunton Half Marathon a professional video package that captured the scale, atmosphere and community value of the event.
The next day recap helped keep momentum alive immediately after race day, giving runners, spectators, organisers and supporters content they could engage with while the event was still fresh.
The wider asset package gave the organisers content to promote the next year’s race, support paid ad activity and showcase the full experience to future participants.
The client response was extremely positive, and LUX Media & Production was booked again for the following year.
